Volunteer Support Parents |
|
The Western Wisconsin Autism Advocacy & Consulting Center (WWAACC) is collaborating with Parent to Parent of Wisconsin to train parents of children with ASD (Autism, PDD, Asperger’s) to become support parents to other parents of children with ASD. Parents raising children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) can provide a unique kind of support that cannot come from any other source. Connecting with and receiving support from another parent who has been there can be one of the most empowering experiences for parents as they make their way through their journey. To inquire about being matched with a volunteer support parent in this region, contact WWAACC at 715-381-8454 or by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Parent to Parent of Wisconsin is the state affiliate to Parent to Parent - USA, a national organization founded in 2005 that is committed to promoting access, quality, and leadership in parent to parent support for parents of children, adolescents, or young adults with special needs.
